About Universeum Working Groups
Universeum Working Groups are a great way to work with other Universeum members on specific topics or task areas in the context of Academic Heritage. Some working groups form for a specific time-limited project, others work on a more long-term basis. At the Universeum Annual Meetings, there is usually a dedicated time slot for working group sessions which are open to all conference participants. Beyond these, working groups also organise additional events and activities which can be advertised via the Universeum mailing list/newsletter and the Universeum website. The Universeum Executive Committee supports working group chairs and is happy to be contacted for any question regarding running the group and its activities.
Requirements
If you’d like to run and co-chair a working group, you should
- have at least two co-chairs (altogether) for the group, preferably from different institutions
- maintain and keep up-to-date a dedicated page on the Universeum website with information
- on what the group is about
- on current and recent activities, including invitations for and reports on working group sessions at annual meetings
- on how Universeum members can participate
- the names and contact information of the group’s co-chairs
- host working group sessions at Universeum Annual Meetings open to conference participants
- report on activities at the yearly Universeum General Assembly
Setting up a working group
If you’d like to set up a new working group, please contact the secretary of the Executive Committee at contact@universeum-network.eu with your proposal. Most likely, the committee will suggest that you organise an initial launch session at the next annual meeting or online in order to introduce your ideas to the community and find active participants and maybe additional co-chairs. Afterwards, you and the Executive Committee will decide together about setting up the working group on a more permanent basis.
Contact
For contacting the co-chairs of active working groups, please see at the specific working group web pages on this website (see above). For any other question related to working groups, please contact the secretary at contact@universeum-network.eu.
