Workshop at Universeum Conference 2026 in Coimbra

TwO Movie Studio

What roles can movies play when teaching with objects? How can the media «film» serve the objectives of object-based teaching and learning? Can video help sharing teaching practices? Or train the students’ mediation skills by shaping their editorial practice?

These questions, first raised during the 2025 Teaching with Objects workshop at the Universeum conference in Graz, will be addressed in a «hands-on» workshop from the Joint Working Group Teaching with Objects (TwO). Join us with your (phone) camera, a few reflections on your teaching or learning practices and your creative spirit!

Organizers: Nina El Laban-Devauton, Delphine Issenmann

About

In December 2025, members of the Universeum and UMAC networks, together with practitioners of object-based teaching and learning, came together to establish the Joint Working Group (JWG) Teaching with Objects. This new group continues the legacy of the Erasmus+ project Teaching with Objects (2022–2024), marking the first global initiative dedicated to advancing OBTL.

The JWG promotes object-based teaching and learning by focusing on good practice and sharing case studies to foster discussion on the Teaching with Objects platform. It also hosts workshops, for example at the annual Universeum and UMAC conferences, and welcomes initiatives for online activities that enable global participation.
